Tiered maps
Map items open red portals to dedicated map zones. Three tiers at monster level 81, 84 and 87, combine three maps into the next tier, and buy Tier 1 maps from a vendor in every town.
Project Lage is a free mod made by a long-time Project Diablo 2 player. Many ideas are inspired by PD2, rebuilt from scratch for D2R with their own twist. Join the closed alpha and help shape the first season.
Project Lage comes from years of playing Project Diablo 2 seasons. It keeps what made that endgame great, like maps you push tier by tier, loot worth picking up and builds that were never viable before, and brings it to Diablo II: Resurrected with its own touch: our own maps, bosses, items and numbers, in full HD.
D2R deserves an endgame that keeps you playing long after Baal.
Everything marked In the alpha is in the current test build. Coming later is on the roadmap and arrives during the alpha or after it.
Map items open red portals to dedicated map zones. Three tiers at monster level 81, 84 and 87, combine three maps into the next tier, and buy Tier 1 maps from a vendor in every town.
Named bosses in Vaelith's Frozen Throne, Morvane's Ossuary and Hrothgar's Last Stand. Cube all three into The Sundered Crown and face Kharos the Unending.
Corrupt a map for twice the monster density, one extra modifier and 25% more experience. A corrupted map can't be changed again.
A 10×8 inventory, a 10×4 charm drawer that slides out of the inventory, a 10×12 Horadric Cube and extra shared stash tabs.
All eight classes, the Warlock included, get stronger synergies and fixes for weak skills, and the mercenaries get scaling auras. Skills can be cast in town.
Every game drops loot as if five players were in it, higher runes drop more often, and cube rune upgrades no longer need gems.
Orbs of Shifting, Remaking, Ascension and Fortune reroll and upgrade items, the Socketsmith's Box adds sockets, and the Corruption Orb rolls one risky outcome.
New uniques like Koki's Ember and Emberwrought Crown, new runewords (Kindred, Wrath of Ages, Dawnward, Pale Lantern) and stronger charms and jewels.
Shift + click to identify, Ctrl + Q to identify everything, tomes hold 500 scrolls, scrolls cost 1 gold, and loot colours for runes, orbs and maps.
Hide junk, highlight what matters, and a floating list of notable drops in the top left corner.
A fresh layout on every run, rolled map modifiers and a dedicated Maps tab at the vendors.
Stackable runes, gems and map currency, and more stash space for long seasons.
Straight from the alpha build. More arrive with every test round.

In-game screenshots arrive with the next alpha build.
The tools every map and town in Project Lage is built with.

Maps drop from Hell Act 5 champions and uniques and are opened in the Horadric Cube in Harrogath. Each map is its own zone with its own monsters and rules.
Immunities per map. Rare monsters can roll others on top.
Monster type with higher resistances than usual.
Monster types with lower resistances, so every build has a target.
Density on Teeming maps, +100% on corrupted ones.
Our own layouts, drawn straight from the alpha build's map files. Click a map to see it larger.

Map info on screen. Inside a map, its name, tier, monster level and boss show at the top of the screen, and map tooltips explain how to open each map.
The full list of changes in the alpha build. Numbers are still being tuned, so expect them to move between alpha patches.

Alpha patch notes are posted to testers with each build.
Games are hosted by players through D2RLoader's TCP/IP multiplayer. Your ladder characters are stored on the Project Lage server, so the season and its leaderboard stay honest.
ProjectLage.exe downloads your ladder characters before you play and uploads them while you play. Ladder characters live in their own save folder, so your offline characters are never touched. The server keeps the last 20 versions of every save.
Ranked by level, then experience. Filter softcore and hardcore and every class. Fallen hardcore heroes stay on the board, struck through. Open the leaderboard.
Every season starts fresh with new characters. When a season ends its characters become read-only and the final standings stay on the site.
ProjectLage.exe installs the same mod build and the pinned D2RLoader version for every player. On the ladder, only approved plugins load; anything else is set aside while you play and put back afterwards.
| Plugin | What it does | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Project Lage | The mod's own plugin: charm drawer, quick identify, map info. | Installed by ProjectLage.exe |
| Bind And Summon | A separate D2RLoader plugin by its own author, allowed on the ladder in the version pinned for the season. Not part of Project Lage. | Nexus Mods (download it yourself) |
Your own copy from Battle.net, with Lord of Destruction. Project Lage builds the mod from your install, so no game files are ever downloaded.
Fill in the form below. Invited testers get the download link and a ladder account.
It installs and updates everything: the mod, the matching D2RLoader version and its settings. It backs up your saves before every update, and if a D2R patch gets ahead of D2RLoader it waits instead of breaking your game.
Start ProjectLage.exe ladder, sign in once, and host or join games from D2RLoader's Multiplayer screen (TCP/IP). The host opens TCP port 4000 for others to join.
Never take a mod onto Battle.net. Project Lage always starts offline through D2RLoader and never connects to Blizzard's servers, so your Battle.net account stays safe.
Project Lage is coming soon. The alpha is small on purpose, so every tester's feedback counts. Leave your details and you'll hear from us when your invite is ready.
The offline mod is free and stays free forever. Running the multiplayer side is different: the ladder server, the save storage, the updater downloads and the work on new features all cost money every month.
To keep the game running with multiplayer support and to keep upgrading the features, Project Lage needs a little financial help. 1 € per season is enough for now to keep the work going.
The rest still comes out of the developer's own pocket. Every euro helps keep the servers running.
Donations are voluntary and never needed to play. They give no in-game advantage, so the ladder stays fair. Any amount helps. The pool updates by itself and never shows names.
It is coming soon. The closed alpha comes first, then the first ladder season. Alpha testers hear about dates first.
Yes. Project Lage is a free fan project, and the offline mod stays free forever. You only need your own copy of Diablo II: Resurrected. The multiplayer servers run on voluntary donations; 1 € per season keeps them going.
No. Project Lage is made by a long-time PD2 player and many ideas are inspired by PD2, but it is its own mod for Diablo II: Resurrected, with its own maps, bosses, items and balance. It is not affiliated with the PD2 team.
Project Lage never connects to Battle.net. It runs offline through D2RLoader, and multiplayer goes through D2RLoader's TCP/IP and our own ladder server. Never try to use any mod on Battle.net.
No. Ladder characters start fresh each season and live on the server in their own save folder. Your offline Project Lage characters stay on your PC and keep working.
ProjectLage.exe checks your game build. If a patch arrives before D2RLoader supports it, it tells you to wait instead of starting a broken game, and picks up the fix as soon as it is released.
All eight, including the Warlock. Every class has rework changes in the alpha.
Offline, it's up to you. On the ladder only the approved plugins load, currently Project Lage's own plugin and Bind And Summon (which you download from Nexus yourself).
One player hosts from D2RLoader's Multiplayer screen and opens TCP port 4000; the others join from the game browser or by address. Everyone needs the same Project Lage build, which ProjectLage.exe takes care of.
The same as Diablo II: Resurrected on Windows. The mod adds no noticeable load.
